‘MYTHIC ULTRA - SLEEPING BAG ’ CLIENT: RAB Equipment
Rab is a British brand that has been specializing in mountaineering and climbing equipment since 1981.
We were approached by Rab to photograph one of their new award winning sleeping bag. The Mythic Ultra is incredibly warm, packs small and is ultra light. Thanks to it's unique titanium layer that reflects the heat emitted by your body. The brief specified two locations with varied weather, photographing different scenarios with the sleeping bags and details of the materials. In addition we produced a short 15 second social media film from one of the locations. We shot this in Northern Ticino to take advantage of the remote alpine landscape. To reach these locations we ski toured about 1000m of vert with all our equipment, shot during blue hour and skied down with headlamps. As tempting as it is to actually bivvy in these situations, it ads another layer of complexity that makes the photographs secondary in winter. In order to guarantee the highest commercial quality we decided to prioritize the stills over the adventure.
